The term contemporary means ‘that which belongs to the present’. Contemporary dance emphasizes on movement that is organic, i.e. which comes naturally to us, like reflexes etc. Modern contemporary focuses on theories of contraction, release, expansion, extension, floor-work, contact-work and fuses it with emotional content. It is the dance of the present, fused with technique, fluidity, body conditioning, self-experimental expression and musicality. Will include partnering choreographies and theatrical exercises.
